This intersection has been under construction for a few weeks now. The detour signage and plan only considers vehicles, not pedestrians or cyclists. Sometimes the sidewalks on both sides of 17a street look closed, but are in fact open. Then, just as you get used to being able to get through, they switch up the construction but don't bother to put signs up to warn peds or cyclists that they can't get through to 26 ave. Both 17a st and 26 ave are busy transit routes with lots of foot traffic. All that is needed is to put a few signs up at the nearest bus stops to let people know ahead of time that they can't get through . Today I had to walk all the way up to the construction zone before seeing that both sidewalks were closed at 17a st and 26 ave. Not a big deal for someone able bodied, but we have a lot of seniors and people with young kids in the area and this could be such an easy fix
