Slippery surface on playground structure

Describe the concern. The stairs on this big plastic dinosaur are extremely slippery when it is cold. It is fine in warmer weather but the combination of cold temperatures and winter boots is super dangerous. Snow on the surface makes it even more slippery. My two and half year old son and I went to the playground today (January 5) in the afternoon. As he put his foot on bottom step of this structure he slipped, hitting his head on the upright piece of the structure resulting in a big bruise above his eyebrow and lots of tears. I almost caught him on the way down but was not quick enough. There was not any ice on the surface and only a small scattering of snow. Afterwards I tried climbing the stairs on this dinosaur and I could barely maintain footing with proper winter boots and the balance of an adult. Not sure what the solution to this could be as it is really only a seasonal issue but it makes for a very unsafe part of this otherwise fun playground.
