Hello I’m live two (2) blocks away from this in West Hillhurst. I have walked the district many time on my nightly walks I notice depressed driveways (I have fallen twice on these in the winter), sidewalk cracks, asphalt, and trees on developer sites (or lack of). I was walking the other night and saw an entire block on the south side of the road (the road runs east/west) has failed (south side of 3rd Ave between 20th and 21th Street). It is cracked down the middle, spanning almost the entire block. Of the 100 concrete flats, 47 are creaked (some…badly cracked). I’m thinking that there is settlement under the sidewalk. Interesting to note, there is new and old concrete on the block. I’m not sure what would create this condition…water or poor soils or poor concrete or all of the above. I’m amazed that people have not complained about this….there is a problem here. Thanks
