The sound barrier wall along Southland drive in between Elbow Dr. and 14th St. is not only dilapidated but also an insufficient height to block sound. It is a hazard both by structure and design to the health and safety of the Southwood neighbourhood residents. I am aware that the wall is so outdated that you can no longer source the parts to repair; however, it is beyond repair and needs to not only be completely replaced but built taller (the same height as the barrier is along 14th St.). I recognize that the city is busy building new sound barrier walls in neighbouring neighbourhoods (Braeside) but the city also has a responsibility to replace pre-existing barriers that are deteriorating to the point of falling apart and putting the community at risk. Please follow up with Southwood neighbourhood residents about this issue.
