Our sidewalk is in a local "valley". And so at this time of year with the melting piles of snow, the water from the daytime melt accumulates on the sidewalk. Then freezes overnight. Which results in a 2" layer of ice. Happens every day. My neighbour and I have to chop the ice every day, which is a losing battle. There needs to be a drainage ditch build, or something like that. It is impossible for us to keep the sidewalk ice-free. We are doing our best, but it is not enough.
